Garlic Bread (Quick & Easy)

Making my 7 year old daughter eat her breakfast before she rushes for school is quite a task. At 7:30 in the morning there is  a lot of cajoling, wooing, bribing while she gulps down the most important meal of the day. To make that interesting ,fun as well as healthy i have to constantly come up with some aces in my sleeve. Sometimes i bring a variety in the presentation or make some funky innovations and at other times i change the name of the dish to entertain her. The morning saga gets a breather on saturdays n sundays where her first meal of the day is Brunch.
So in this kids corner i am posting dishes which are simple, fun and most importantly inviting enough to be gulped down by kids----

Bread and its inumerable variations  occupies a very dear place in our breakfast menu.Garlic Bread with slices of Bread instead of the usual Baguette is one of my personal favourites for the breakfast. To make it healthy, i use multigrain or whole wheat bread slices. And the delightful garlic aroma just livens the monday morning  blues----

A few weeks ago, another funky variation to the bread was given in                      Chilli Cheese Toast ---- will come with more fun recipes for kids breakfast!

Ingredients:-

  • Bread Slices - 10 to 12
  • Garlic - 5 to 6 pods
  • Butter - 100 gm
  • Coriander leaves - a few sprigs
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Aluminium Foil

Method:-

Making Garlic Butter for the bread is very easy. In a bowl add finely chopped garlic to the butter (i used salted amul butter) along with the chopped coriander leaves. Adjust salt and pepper to taste and mix well.

Preheat the oven to 175 C. Now apply a generous coat of the garlic butter on the bread.

To give it an authentic garlic bread feel i placed one bread on top of another and wrapped it in an aluminium foil.

Bake for 6-8 minutes.
Serve with ketchup sauce or any cheese dip

Note:- Instead of Baking u can place the bread on a skillet and let it cook till golden brown on one side. No need to flip. Aslo, if u have a garlic crusher, the garlic extract can be used for the butter instead of chopping the pods.

My daughter washes down the garlic Bread with a glass of fresh orange juice and i am
satisfied that the day's first meal has been truly filling.
