My experiment with Paneer (Cottage Cheese)

My experiments with Paneer (cottage cheese) continues....

I set out making Arrabbiata sauce which is a very delightful sauce that goes well with many dishes. It can also be used as a base coat for Pizza. I decided to bring together paneer and arrabiatta sauce to a lip smacking combination. The end result with with different bases - of bread and steamed rice, gave a yummy twist to the dinner.

Ingredients (for the arrabbiata sauce)
  • Garlic (a few pieces)
  • Tomato (1 or 2)
  • Tomato Sauce (5-6 big spoons)
  • Basil leaves (5-6)
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil
Preparing the Sauce:-

Cut the basil leaves into juliennes (thin strips).
Saute the garlic along with Tomato (cut in to chunks) in olive oil.

Add the tomato Sauce, followed by the Basil leaves and season with salt and pepper.

Once the sauce is cooked, add the finely chopped coriander leaves in the end.
The Sauce is ready.

Now for the experiment ------------

Ingredients:-
  • Bread
  • Steamed Rice
  • Paneer
  • Golden Corn (a handful)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Spinach Leaves (a handful)
  • Garlic (a few pieces)
  • Grated Cheese
Marinating the paneer and corn with a mix of olive oil, salt and pepper was the first step. Then leave it in the fridge for 30 - 45 minutes.

In the meanwhile saute a handful of spinach leaves in olive oil, along with a few pieces of garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside this mix for final addition.

Prepare steamed rice.

Saute the marinated cubes of cottage cheese in some olive oil for a few seconds till it becomes soft and succulent.

The Final Act:

Preheat the oven on Bake Mode at 180 C for 10 minutes.
On the Baking Tray put a slice of Bread and top it with a generous amount of Arrabbiata Sauce.
Now add the sautéed paneer and put a few spinach strips on top. Top it it with some Grated Cheese.
Bake this for 7-10 minutes at 180 C

The Baked Bread with Arrabbiata Sauce and Paneer came out absolutely yummylicious.

Do the same process replacing the Bread slice with steamed rice.

Lo and Behold an interesting twist to Dinner--------

Have you tried it yet?????

Let me know how it has turned out......
