Jhalmuri

A very popular Bengali Street food, Jhalmuri is one of the easiest types of Chaat to make. It does not require any type of chutney and can be dished out with few basic ingredients. Also this snack can be pepped up by adding your own choice ingredients. It is light on stomach and going for a second or third serving is guilt free. This is my version of Jalmuri ----

Ingredients:-

  • Puffed Rice :- 150gm
  • Chopped Onion - 1 medium sized
  • Chopped Cucumber- 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Green Chillis -2
  • Sev Bhujia - handful
  • Coriander leaves - little
  • Mustard Oil- 10-15 ml
  • Lemon -1
  • Chopped Green Mango - 1/2 cup
  • Roasted Groundnut - 1/4 cup
Method:-

Chopped Raw Mango n cucumber

In a big mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients.

You can also add boiled potatoes or chopped tomatoes. Let the tomato be extra firm lest the jhalmuri becomes a soggy affair.

Toss with lemon juice and garnish with the finely chopped coriander leaves. Serve immediately.
