Eggless Chocolate Cake

This post is a celebration of sorts!!!!! I baked my first cake and it is my 50th blog post!  Cheers to my double whammy and am feeling super kicked. The idea of posting a cake for my 50th blog post was always there in my mind, and i had bookmarked  few recipes. But today when i set out to make the cake, i realised it was Karva Chauth as well as sankata Hara chaturthi! So i decided to go eggless and selected this simple Eggless chocolate cake. The recipe is from DK's Chef in You. I was lost in the amazing food world of Chef in you and every recipe out there screamed----------TRY ME!!!.

So here goes the recipe for the Eggless Choco Cake :-

Ingredients----------
  • Refined Flour (1 cup)
  • Cocoa powder (2 tablespoons)
  • Baking Powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Soda Bi-carbonate (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Vanilla essence (1 teaspoon)
  • Condensed Milk (1/2 can--- 200gms)
  • Melted Butter (1/2 cup)
Method:-

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and soda.

Combine all the ingredients with enough water to get a pouring consistency. Mix them well using a whisk.

Pour this mixture in to a greased baking tin
Bake this in a preheated oven at 180C for 30 minutes or till a fork inserted in to the cake comes out clean.
Unmould and cool on a wire rack!

In my excitement on seeing my first bake, i missed taking the final picture, but hey there's always a next time!

The Verdict:-

Hubby liked it (does he have a choice anyways ?-------:P). He gave a thumbs up saying the cake was soft and moist and of course it was a well done effort for first time. Daughter and me craved for a little more sweet in the cake. Overall the afternoon was well spent

I am sending this cake to
