Mooli ke Parathas (Radish Indian Flatbread)
Mooli ke Parate for a sunday morning breakfast livened up the otherwise sombre bread n egg affair. Radishes fresh from the farms of kodaikanal were waiting to be cooked.
Ingredients--- Radish, Wheat flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder( a pinch), garam masala(optional), pepper powder.
Procedure:-
Grate the radishes and mix it with wheat flour and all the above ingredients as per taste.
Dont add water because the moisture/water content in the radish is enough to make it in to a dough. Knead the mix well and add little oil to make it in to a fine dough.
Now take a small quantity of the dough and spread it flatly using wheat flour to dust it if sticky.Put this spread on the shallow frying pan/ tava and cook it crispier with butter/oil/ghee.
Delightful Parathas are ready to be savoured with curd/raitha, pickle, ketchup.
This is one style of preparing the parantha- there is another way to make this (with stuffing inside). Will blog someday about that as well - watch out for this space!
