The hot & sultry weather took a beating after a sudden act of mercy from rain-gods & the weather though not exactly chilly, was good enough for hot munchies with an afternoon cuppa ! Had some soaked chickpeas & remembering a nice recipe bookmarked ,decided to make some crispy crunchy to snack on !
The legumes which were intended for a gravy, did not mind sharing a cup of their counterparts for this treat (gee) .Inspired by the creole seasoning in the recipe, I mixed a blend of dried herbs & red chilli powder sitting in my pantry ! This melange of Mediterranean flavours made the patties more flavorful and gave a WOW factor to it.

What goes:- (seasoned & spiced to my palate, adjust accordingly)
In a big bowl mash the chickpeas well to a smooth consistency saving a handful to give that crunchy edge. Now add all the ingredients (except the olive oil & the gram flour of course) and mix well. Check for seasoning and rest the mix in the fridge for a while( about 20-30 minutes). This brings out the flavours well !
Shape the mix in to patties, dusting with gram flour/bread crumbs. In a non stick pan, tip in little olive oil and cook over medium heat, turning over after a few minutes.
Let the patties get browned & crispy.
Savour it with tomato Sauce or a salsa & light salad or sit back n enjoy with your choice beverage.
Taking it one step further ,I put the OTG on a grill mode & grilled a few of them for 20 minutes @ 200C. It was good too !
The legume patties are off to MLLA # 36 hosted by Aqua, event by Susan
