Nutty Blondies

A delicious tea-time serve, this lovely blondie is a poor sibling of the rich & hot looking  Chocolate Brownies. The blondies are generally not frosted and have the same texture and shape of the brownies, but they get their distinctive taste from brown sugar as opposed to the brownies which have cocoa powder as the main ingredient. Blondies often include chocolate chips; they may also have nuts, toffee,candies etc;

What goes:-
  • Plain Flour - 1 cup (approx 125 to 150 gm)
  • Brown Sugar - 1 cup
  • Butter (unsalted) - 100gm
  • Egg - 1
  • Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Nuts (cashew, almond,walnut.pistachios) - 1/2 cup - chopped
How:-

Preheat the oven to 175C. Grease a baking tin and set aside.
Whisk together the melted butter and sugar in a bowl. Add in the egg & vanilla essence and whisk some more.

Add the sifted Flour along with baking powder and salt and blend in the chopped nuts.

Scrape the batter to the greased tin.

Sprinkle more nuts if you want over the top and bake in for 20-25 minutes or till a fork inserted comes clean.

Allow it to cool, Slice & Serve---

Verdict:-

My Brownie crazy family loved this dishy blondie; make a batch and dig in !!
Enjoy !
