Fritters (Bajjis) were the unanimous choice !! The veggies were given a miss because of the soaring prices - the fridge and the pantry threw us these 3 Muskeeteers !!
Chocolates, Eggs, Bread
While Eggs n Bread in Fritters is something i make often, my hubby got pretty excited about chocolates --- why not chocolate fritters he asked me? !! He was looking forward to the explosion of flavours and together we set out by getting the savoury batter ready !
Here's a look in to the ingredients for the Batter---
- Chickpea Flour/Gram Flour (Besan) - 1 cup
- Corn Flour - 2 tbsp
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp - to taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Water - as required
- Oil - for deep frying
The 3 Musketeers ---
- Chocolates - (I used Bounty)
- Eggs - 2 ( boiled, peeled n halved)
- Bread - 2 (halved diagonally)
The main part was getting the batter ready and of course to heat up the oil in a frying pan .
In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and add water little by little to get a thick consistency.
The chocolates needs to be coated thoroughly. Drop them in the hot oil and let it deep fry till golden brown. Remove and put the fritters on an absorbent paper.

Serve hot with Sauce or any other accompaniment of your choice. !
Verdict for the Chocolate fritters---
Truly a revelation ! Loved the fusion of flavours !! A cocktail of savoury, sweet and deep fried is no doubt a trip to sin-land and back--- but we really loved it !
My hubby was very pleased that his suggestion proved a hit.
